You Get What You Pay For

You Get What You Pay For

They say that cheap things eventually cost more. This is exactly how some
people feel about shopping at Forever 21. Of course, I'm talking about the
clothing brand that has kept growing and growing since 1984. Founded in
LA, California they now have locations in three of the six continents. You can’t fault its success, but its quality? That is a completely different thing.
Forever 21's marketing has always been based on made-in-the-USA
merchandise, but most product's pages indicate that they are imported. Are
we buying a lie? Or just bad quality clothing with a good price?

As a teenager, I don't resist the temptation of shopping "more for less", but I sometimes doubt if I should. Should we be spending our money on
clothing that we most likely won't be able to wear after 10-15 washes? Or,
would it be more intelligent to have less but better articles? Suppose that this also depends on what type of clothing you’re looking for. According to  Washingtonian Magazine, you should always peruse the Love 21 area when shopping at this store. This collection is designed for an audience between 20 and 30 years old. That is the main reason why there is more emphasis on quality and fabric here. The Washingtonian also states that when buying jeans at Forever 21, we should be careful to not get denim-colored fabric which is what most of them are.

Forever 21 is as good as other brands, don't get me wrong. What I’m trying to say is that our entire closet shouldn’t  be filled with clothes
from there. There are specific things that end up being worth a mark-up. (Ex: jeans, coats, shoes...) But if you ever need to buy
something quick for the weekend don't doubt that Forever 21 will have the
cheapest, and most trendy outfit for you. But yes, it will take you hours to
find it in those messy stores.

Star Wars' life style

When I watch films like Star Wars I wish I could have a life with a bit more of adventure. I guess mostly everyone has the same type of life: school, college, job and retirement. Otherwise the poor are not as lucky as we are and have to start working really young to be able to maintain their family.

But how would our life's be if we were born in Luke Skywalker's planet? Will any of us be brave enough to become a hero like he did? I think that the answer to this question is no. What do you think?

Music 09/17

Music is such an important thing for me. It changes my mood depending on what type of music I listen to. No matter what day of the week or what time in the day is, my "happy songs" playlist always makes me smile.  I should also say that I don't have a concrete music style. Depending on the day, I might like different things, but I'm not a fan of classic music though.

Actually last Saturday I went to a concert in The Backyard at Bee Cave (really cool place: http://thebackyard.net/2011/) The concert was of Passion Pit, an American electropop band from Massachusetts. It was the first time I listened to this music, and I really liked it! If you don't know them, you should listen to a couple of their songs!

Today, I feel alone. I miss Spain like crazy. So I wanted to share with you a couple of song I've listening to while I was doing my homework. You will notice some of them are in Spanish, I'm sorry about that. But listen to them anyway, maybe you'll become a fan of Spanish music!

About me

Welcome to my blog!
Here you will be able to read the life experiences of a 15 year old girl, me, Ines Ybañez. Currently living in Austin, Texas I was born in Madrid (Spain) where i´ve lived my whole life until September 2011, when I moved to Paris. I lived in the capital of France for almost 10 months. There, I stayed with my older sister Clara and her husband Arnaud. Moving to two different cities in different countries has been a huge change for me, good in most ways, but also bad in others.

About me, you should now a couple of things. I am a teenager who has been taken away from what she loved more, Madrid and her friends. Obviously, I´ve made really good friends in the last year but it is still not the same. So much changing has made me “mature” in some ways I guess.

Changing the subject, I would like to talk to you about my skills and hobbies (just so you get to know me better.) In sports, I like volleyball and in the summer I surf too. Fashion is one of my hobbies, reading magazines, going shopping or even drawing some sketches. I hope that you find interesting what I write in this blog, because that is what I write for, to entertain you with my stories and interests. Thank you for reading
